It places a strong emphasis on economic development and poverty reduction in surrounding communities to ensure that each park becomes environmentally, socially and financially sustainable in the long term.
Today, the organization manages 16 protected areas in nine countries, covering 10.5 million hectares. These parks help bring species back to their natural habitats and create safe spaces for them to reproduce and thrive.
