GIRAFFES 🦒

The GCF (Giraffe Conservation Foundation) is a family of international organizations whose objective is to raise awareness and support the conservation of a future for the giraffe and the conservation of its habitat in Africa.

The number of giraffes has decreased by almost 30% in just over three decades to reach about 111,000 in the wild. It is likely that giraffes were ten times more numerous just a century ago.

Currently, GCF is involved in giraffe conservation initiatives in 15 African countries where they carry out anti-poaching actions, awareness-raising and education on giraffe conservation in African states that share their living spaces with giraffes.

Giraffe populations are not bound by national borders and most species are widespread in many countries. The use of a regional or transboundary approach is often vital for conservation success. GCF has worked and continues to work with several African governments on the development of national and regional action plans for giraffe conservation (in cooperation with other conservation efforts where the giraffe occupies the same landscapes as other target species).

Even though our bracelets are elastic, choosing the right size is important because they should never bother you when they are on your wrist. They should not be too tight or too loose to allow you to completely forget about them.

To know which size to choose, measure the size of the wrist where the bracelet will be worn using a tape measure. If you don’t have one, use a string or ribbon, mark where the string goes around the entire wrist, then measure the string with a ruler.

For a child: Between XXS (- 6 years old) or XS (+ 6 years old)
For a woman: Between S, M and L
For a man: Between XL or XXL
