Every year, the FFAC (French Federation of Guide Dog Associations) gives away more than 220 guide dogs free of charge to visually impaired people, thus contributing to a better social and civic inclusion.
A guide dog for the blind is a dog designed to guide a person suffering from blindness or profound visual impairment. It brings him/her more autonomy, comfort and security in his/her daily life movements. Avoiding obstacles, finding crosswalks, memorizing routes, finding a bus stop, a mailbox… the guide dog knows how to respond to 50 commands. It is also a daily companion and a real vector of social contact.
The FFAC brings together 10 regional associations, 2 national associations, 17 training centers and 1 network of puppy breeders who have chosen to form a federation in order to align and coordinate their actions. In particular, the promotion of the Guide Dog to potential users and the general public, the operation and development of Guide Dog Schools, the professional training of educators and the recognition of this autonomous means of locomotion by the public authorities.
Even though our bracelets are elastic, choosing the right size is important because they should never bother you when they are on your wrist. They should not be too tight or too loose to allow you to completely forget about them.
To know which size to choose, measure the size of the wrist where the bracelet will be worn using a tape measure. If you don’t have one, use a string or ribbon, mark where the string goes around the entire wrist, then measure the string with a ruler.
Using the chart below, you can find your size:
→ Are you between 2 sizes?
Choose if you prefer to wear your bracelets snug or looser.
→ The size of your wrist is not in the chart?
No problem! We can make all sizes to measure at no extra cost. To do so, send us a small message at firstname.lastname@example.org.
→ Is it a gift?
Here is an idea of the “standard” sizes. Don’t worry! If the size doesn’t fit, we will change it at no extra cost.
For a child: Between XXS (- 6 years old) or XS (+ 6 years old)
For a woman: Between S, M and L
For a man: Between XL or XXL
